Its ultra micro size makes it the ideal choice for a smaller trainer model that can be flown in large yards, parks, baseball fields, and other suitable spaces where larger models cannot typically be flown successfully by first time pilots. Exclusive SAFE Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope technology helps prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation, and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. The 100% factory assembled airframe is equipped with a reliable electric motor along with an ESC Electronic Speed Control and receiver unit plus four servos. The RTF version also comes with everything else needed to fly in the box, including a battery, charger, and a controller transmitter equipped with a USB C port for direct connection to a PC for easy plug and play use of the included trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator.

It is also a scale model of the popular Carbon Cub by CubCrafters, an upgraded and thoroughly modern iteration of the classic Super Cub. Best of all, it is equipped with Horizon Hobby exclusive SAFE technology that helps prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation, and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. Beginner, Intermediate, and Experienced modes allow you to choose the level of stability and control you need, or are ready to try, at the flip of a switch. You can also instantly return to stable flight using Panic Recovery in any flight mode. This makes the Sport Cub S 2 a natural evolution of the trainer many pilots learned to fly with because it includes all of the same great features while also adding telemetry capabilities that send flight battery voltage to the transmitter to make the pilot better aware of how much power remains while flying.

And the fun does not stop after you learn how to fly. Its lightweight yet durable airframe is equipped with a powerful electric motor that delivers long flight times and provides plenty of speed and power to perform aerobatic manoeuvres including loops, rolls, and even inverted upside down flight. That means the Sport Cub S 2 is a model even experienced pilots will appreciate and enjoy flying, and can also use to teach others. You can also install the optional float set sold separately to add large pools, small ponds, and lakes to the list of places you can fly.

The Ready To Fly RTF version includes everything needed to fly in one box and is a perfect choice for new RC pilots. From the Spektrum MLP6DSM 2.4GHz controller transmitter and the AA batteries for it, to the 1S 150mAh rechargeable LiPo Lithium Polymer battery and a convenient USB charger that can be used with a variety of USB power sources, there is nothing extra you need to buy or provide. A Bind N Fly Basic version is also available for experienced pilots who want to use their preferred Spektrum DSMX DSM2 equipped transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own.

The RTF version also includes a Steam key to download and activate a trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator. The simulator features many of the most popular Horizon Hobby trainer aeroplanes and helicopters, including the Sport Cub S, along with built in Virtual Flight Instructor lessons. This helps new pilots learn to fly successfully by practising on a desktop PC at home or on a laptop almost anywhere. Simply use a USB C cable not included to connect the included MLP6DSM controller transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer to fly for up to 100 minutes. Then you can purchase RealFlight Trainer Edition or Evolution to fly any time for as long as you like.

If this is your first RC aeroplane, Horizon Hobby exclusive SAFE technology prevents overcontrol and crashes. It also offers multiple flight modes to deliver more control and capabilities as your skills progress at the flip of a switch.

Beginner Mode

In this flight mode, the aeroplane has pitch up down and bank left right angle limits that prevent overcontrol which could lead to loss of orientation and crashes. When the control sticks are released, the aeroplane automatically returns to level flight, allowing you to relax and enjoy simply steering the aeroplane through the sky. Take offs are as simple as applying full throttle and letting the aeroplane lift off from a suitable surface, or by giving it a quick hand launch over surfaces such as grass. Landings are as easy as reducing the throttle and letting it glide to the ground.

Intermediate Mode

This flight mode allows more freedom in pitch and bank but still prevents significant overcontrol and the aeroplane does not return to level flight automatically. This allows tighter turns and faster climbs and descents as your skills improve.

Experienced Mode

In this flight mode there are no pitch or bank angle limits so you have complete control. You can fly inverted upside down and perform aerobatic manoeuvres including loops, rolls, stall turns, and more.

Panic Recovery

If you lose control of the aeroplane in the Intermediate or Experienced flight modes, simply activate Panic Recovery at the push of a button and release the control sticks. SAFE technology will automatically return the aeroplane to level flight.
