More Information

For nearly two decades, the Apprentice has been a trusted “traditional” trainer for first time RC pilots. The HobbyZone Apprentice STOL S 700mm builds on that reputation by scaling the popular 1.5m and 1.2m versions down into a more compact and accessible size, while also adding STOL capability similar to the well known E-flite Timber series. Its ultra micro size makes it more affordable and practical to fly in a wide range of locations, from yards and parks to sports fields.

Equipped with SAFE technology, the Apprentice STOL S 700mm is designed to make learning to fly straightforward and confidence inspiring. It features a durable EPO airframe with a factory installed brushless motor, ESC, receiver, and servos, delivering reliable performance with minimal setup required. The RTF version includes everything needed to fly, including a Spektrum battery, USB C charger, and SLT6 transmitter that can also connect to a PC for use with the included RealFlight Trainer Edition simulator trial.

Its compact size and traditional high wing design make it well suited to smaller flying areas while maintaining stable and predictable handling. The brushless power system paired with a 2S 300mAh battery provides enough power for both training and progression, including the ability to handle light wind conditions. The taildragger landing gear and oversized tyres allow for take off and landing on a variety of surfaces including grass, dirt, and gravel.

With full 4 channel control and selectable Beginner, Intermediate, and Experienced flight modes, pilots can progress at their own pace. SAFE also includes Panic Recovery, allowing the model to return to level flight at the press of a button. As skills improve, the aircraft is capable of basic aerobatics such as loops, rolls, and inverted flight.

The wing can be installed or removed quickly using thumbscrews, making transport and storage simple. Whether used as a first trainer or a compact aircraft for experienced pilots to teach others, the Apprentice STOL S 700mm offers a balanced combination of ease of use, durability, and versatility.
