The Hangar 9 P-51D Mustang 60 cc ARF is a detailed 1/5-scale replica of one of the most iconic WWII warbirds, modelled after aircraft flown by the 357th Fighter Squadron. Constructed from lightweight balsa and plywood with full balsa sheeting, it delivers both durability and an authentic scale appearance. Key features such as correctly positioned tail wheel geometry, functional flaps for realistic take-offs and landings, and internal components designed to preserve scale detail all contribute to a highly accurate model. A three-piece wing with plug-in outer panels allows for easier assembly and transport, while removable tail sections add further convenience.

The model includes a wide range of scale details, such as a removable antenna, gun features and accurately sequenced inner gear doors, along with the option to install a retractable electric tail wheel assembly. UltraCote film covering provides a clean, realistic finish similar to a full-size restored aircraft. Additional features include a sliding canopy, detailed cockpit and multiple decal sets, including “Glamorous Glen III” and “Gentleman Jim”, allowing for further personalisation.

Designed with both convenience and performance in mind, the P-51D Mustang 60 cc can be powered by petrol or electric systems to deliver strong warbird performance.
