More Information

The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco was designed as a versatile military aircraft and served as a light attack and observation platform. During the final years of the Vietnam War and in Operation Desert Storm, the Bronco excelled in anti-guerrilla operations, air support and utility missions. Many are still in service today, including with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), where they are used to help fight and prevent wildfires.

As a scaled-down yet still giant-scale alternative to the 30 cc version, the Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 20 cc is modelled after the aircraft flown by CAL FIRE. It is compatible with popular 20 cc petrol engines and equivalent electric power systems, making it a more practical and affordable option for a wider range of pilots.

The Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 30 cc made a strong impact as one of the largest giant-scale warbirds available, but the 2743 mm (108 in) wingspan made storage and transport challenging for many pilots. The OV-10 Bronco 20 cc is a scaled-down version with a 2134 mm (84 in) wingspan that still delivers a giant-scale experience in a more practical size for everyday flying. The three-piece wing allows you to remove the outer panels for easier transport while keeping the centre section, including the fuselage, booms and stabiliser, assembled with the landing gear extended or retracted. Alternatively, additional sections can be separated for more compact storage. The reduced size also allows compatibility with more affordable and widely available 20 cc engines and 6S electric power systems.

Like the larger model, this version features lightweight yet strong and durable built-up wood construction. The factory-applied UltraCote film covering and matching painted parts replicate the finish of the CAL FIRE aircraft. Included decals allow you to personalise the model with your choice of nose art, registration number and city name. A range of scale details, including a pitot tube, antennas, cockpit features and a pilot figure, enhance the overall realism. The included electric retractable landing gear set with shock-absorbing trailing-link struts further improves the scale experience, resulting in a versatile and detailed model well suited to more experienced pilots.
