More Information

De Havilland Canada developed the DHC-6 Twin Otter in 1965 as a rugged STOL commuter aircraft capable of carrying passengers and cargo into demanding environments, from polar regions to desert conditions. In 2005, Viking Air acquired the type certificates for out of production de Havilland aircraft and later reintroduced the Twin Otter, restoring its role as a successful utility airliner. The E-flite UMX Twin Otter is an ultra micro scale replica that captures the character of this iconic aircraft in a compact and accessible format.

Designed as a practical first twin powered model, it is easy to fly and well suited to intermediate to experienced RC pilots. It includes functional features such as LED navigation and landing lights, along with twin brushless motors driving counter rotating three blade propellers. Optional floats can be fitted for operation from water, adding further versatility.

The high wing design provides inherent stability, while the ultra micro size allows it to be flown in a wide range of locations, including yards, parks, and sports fields. It also features moulded panel lines, corrugated control surfaces, and a scale inspired trim scheme for added realism.

Equipped with AS3X for smooth and stable flight, along with optional SAFE Select for added control assistance, the model balances performance and ease of use. The power system is compatible with common 1S 500–800mAh batteries, making it practical and cost effective to operate.
