Designed and developed by Messerschmitt starting as Projekt 1065 in 1939, the Me 262 became the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft. It first entered service in 1944, and although its revolutionary design meant it was faster than almost all prop-driven fighter aircraft of the time, its impact was limited due to the relatively low number produced overall and its late entry into the war. Now, the E-flite UMX Me 262 Twin 30 mm EDF makes it possible for more RC pilots to own and fly a replica of this history-making aircraft. It's equipped with similar and optimised power systems from the popular UMX A-10 that are compatible with 3S 600–850 mAh batteries to meet modern-day EDF performance expectations. It's also equipped with expertly-tuned AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies, plus provides real-time battery voltage and other telemetry information to compatible transmitters. And because of its ultra-micro size, the UMX Me 262 can be flown in more places and smaller spaces than most other EDF models, including at many large parks and sports fields! The fixed landing gear with a steerable nose wheel makes it easy to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces. Or, leave the landing gear off for more speed and vertical performance with easy hand launches – thanks to the automatic Hand Launch Assist mode – over and landings on grass while utilising the protective reinforcements on the bottom of the nacelles.
