Designed and developed by North American Aviation, the same company behind the P-51 Mustang, the F-86 Sabre was one of the world’s first jet powered fighter aircraft. It introduced several advancements in design and technology and played a significant role during the Korean War, achieving a highly favourable combat record. Nearly 10,000 aircraft were produced across multiple variants. The E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF brings this iconic aircraft to the ultra micro scale, making it more accessible for RC pilots while delivering strong performance for its size.
The F-86 Sabre remains one of the most recognisable jet fighters ever built. Its swept wing design contributed to its success, including a reported 10 to 1 victory ratio against the MiG-15. One notable aircraft, known as “The Huff,” featured distinctive nose art inspired by combat history. This model replicates that aircraft with a detailed, fully painted finish and waterslide decals.
The UMX F-86 Sabre arrives fully factory assembled and ready to fly. It features an updated 4S compatible power system designed to deliver high performance for an ultra micro EDF model. AS3X technology provides a smooth and stable flying experience, while optional SAFE Select adds additional control support when needed. Real time battery voltage and telemetry data are available when used with compatible transmitters.
Its compact size allows it to be flown in more locations than most EDF jets, including large parks and sports fields. The fixed landing gear with a steerable nosewheel allows for take off and landing on smooth surfaces. The gear can also be removed for improved speed and vertical performance, with hand launch assisted by an automatic launch mode for operation from grass or similar surfaces.
