Mike Patey’s passion for aviation has inspired many to pursue flight, both in RC and full scale. Known for his “Back to Work” approach, he has created several unique aircraft, including Scrappy — a custom backcountry bush plane built from a crashed Carbon Cub frame and featuring innovations such as a transforming airfoil, solar panel equipped wings, electric motorcycle mounts, and advanced suspension. The E-flite Micro Scrappy 800mm is an officially licensed replica designed to bring that concept to a compact and accessible format for intermediate to experienced pilots.

Slightly larger than typical ultra micro models, the Micro Scrappy better captures the complexity and detail of the full scale aircraft while remaining small and light enough to fly in yards, parks, and sports fields. It features moulded surface details including rivets, panel lines, antennas, and struts, along with functional elements such as LED navigation, landing and simulated strobe lights, flaps, and a steerable tailwheel. Oversized tundra style tyres with wire landing gear and simulated shocks absorb bumps and allow operation from paved, dirt, gravel, and grass surfaces.

The brushless power system drives a distinctive 4 blade propeller and supports both 3S and 4S 300mAh batteries. A 3S setup delivers smooth, scale like performance with the ability to perform basic aerobatics, while 4S provides increased power and stronger vertical performance without modification. The factory installed Spektrum receiver and ESC provide real time telemetry including battery voltage, current, and motor RPM to compatible transmitters. AS3X technology ensures smooth, stable handling, while optional SAFE Select adds flight assistance when needed.

The model arrives factory finished with a fully painted decal trim scheme and is mostly assembled, with a one piece wing that installs or removes quickly for transport and storage. As a Bind N Fly Basic aircraft, it allows pilots to use their own compatible Spektrum DSMX or DSM2 transmitter, battery, and charger.

Combining scale detail, STOL capability, and strong performance, the Micro Scrappy 800mm offers a distinctive and versatile bush plane flying experience in a compact format.
